There are several good routes to this little known waterfall on the edge of Otley. This walk takes a gentle 2 mile amble from Otley Mills to the waterfall. If you are looking for the fastest way to view the Waterfall the quickest access is from the footpath off Bradford Road here.
You can always plot your own path by using your phone to navigate you to the location of the Waterfall here - then click on Navigate.
As with all my walks a GPX file is provided and will always provide more accurate directions.
Directions
From the start point head through the mill complex following the river East (towards Otley). Exit out of the complex up a short incline and enter Grove Hill Park continue through the park, crossing Bradford Road and heading right.
Once you have crossed the major roundabout with the A660 you will see a footpath sign taking you on to the old railway line (to your left). The railway used to connect Arthington to Ilkley and Menston but was closed in 1965.
Follow the railway line for about half a mile where you should be able to see the end of the line fenced off. A path to the left opens up (through some fencing) join this path and keep to the right. This path leads you to the site of the old Derrydiddle Mill and the waterfall.
To complete your walk, follow the path back to the old railway and head back towards Otley where, after a very short walk, you will see a path to your left that will take you back down to Bradford Road and Otley Golf Course.
Cross Bradford Road and head down West Busk Lane, following it to its end and the subway under the A660. Finally cross Ilkley Road to re enter the Otley Mills complex and your starting point.
